I ask you this one question, who are you? No really, who ARE you? Not who your parents want you to be, or who your peers want you to be, or who social media says you are, who are YOU? I ask you this one question, who are you? No really, who ARE you? Not who your parents want you to be, or who your peers want you to be, or who social media says you are, who are YOU? I know one thing for sure. You are unique and talented and have special gifts that are natural only to you that the world is waiting to experience.
That’s the body of the work that I do with you. I help you uncover who you really are and how to combine that with your degree, previous work and volunteer experience, talents and passions to focus on a career path that is right for you.
I have more than 25 years working in talent acquisition, human resources and organizational effectiveness inside and outside of companies and I have two sons who are close to your age (one who recently graduated from UC Santa Barbara and is gainfully employed in generative AI) and another son pursuing his dreams in experiential management
I have more than 25 years working in talent acquisition, human resources and organizational effectiveness inside and outside of companies and I have two sons who are close to your age (one who recently graduated from UC Santa Barbara and is gainfully employed in generative AI) and another son pursuing his dreams in experiential management at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Raising them and being closely involved with both their academic and recreational endeavors, and those of their peers, gives me an intimate understanding of the psyche of your generation.
More importantly, I believe in you. I truly do. I believe in your generation and know you are poised to do amazing things. You understand that your job does not define who you are and that you are not fulfilled simply by the position that you hold.
As a wise coach once told me, “It’s not what you do that brings career satisfaction. It’s who you get to be while doing it.” Laura Berman Fortgang
